On May 22, 2024, heavy rainfall caused severe flooding in the village of Krivina, leaving homes and yards under water. Within hours, streets turned into streams, and many local residents faced the risk of serious damage to their homes.
Volunteers from the “Rescue Club for the Future” rushed to help, quickly organizing to support drainage efforts in the hardest-hit areas. Equipped with tools and machinery—including pumps and generators—the responders worked tirelessly to remove water from flooded rooms and yards.
Local residents expressed their gratitude for the support, saying that without the volunteers’ intervention the situation would have been far more difficult. “What these people did for us is priceless. They were here when we needed them most,” said a woman from one of the affected families.
During the operation, the club members not only pumped out flooded properties, but also shared advice on how to stay safe during future floods. The responders also coordinated their actions with local authorities to ensure that the most affected areas received priority attention.
This operation once again highlights the importance of well-trained volunteer groups like the “Rescue Club for the Future,” who are always ready to act in disasters and crises. Their selflessness and dedication continue to prove that community spirit can be one of the strongest forces against natural disasters.
