In July and August 2024, volunteers from the “Rescue Club for the Future” took an active part in extinguishing a number of fires across different parts of the country. The hot, dry weather—combined with incidents and natural factors—led to outbreaks in areas with varied terrain, from open fields to mountainous regions.

      Firefighting in multiple locations

In the Vladislavovo area (Varna Region), volunteers joined the effort against a fire that burned thousands of square meters of forest. Thanks to coordinated work between volunteers and firefighters, the spread of the fire toward nearby residential areas was prevented.

In Svilengrad (Haskovo Region), the club’s rapid response helped contain a major fire in dry grass and prevented danger to local infrastructure. Similar efforts were made near Stara Zagora Mineral Baths, where volunteers worked side by side with fire brigade teams.

      Complex operations in mountain areas

In Blagoevgrad Region, volunteers played a key role in tackling hard-to-reach fires in the Slavyanka and Rila Mountains. With equipment suitable for mountainous terrain and specialized wildfire suppression methods, they managed to bring the blaze under control, protecting nature reserves and tourist sites.

Support in villages in Plovdiv Region

In the villages of Mihiltsi and Otets Paisievo (Plovdiv Region), as well as other affected settlements, volunteers helped contain fires that broke out in agricultural land. Their quick action helped save significant areas of farmland and prevented the flames from spreading toward homes and farms.

      Solidarity and community spirit

The actions of the “Rescue Club for the Future” highlight the importance of organization and solidarity in responding to natural disasters. The club members demonstrated outstanding endurance, teamwork, and dedication to the mission of protecting people, nature, and property.

The summer months once again showed how vital prepared volunteer groups are—always on call in critical situations. The club’s work deserves recognition, not only because they respond to disasters, but also because they inspire communities to be more prepared and united in difficult times.
